Product Description
Tunnel Kiln is computer-controlled, continuously operating kilns. Pushers move the train of cars non-stop at a predetermined rate. This method is ideal for all ceramic industries requiring high volume production and/or a continuous production process.
Computer technology allows kiln car movement through the kiln to be controlled for changes in firing curves and firing temperatures.
This increases product recovery and minimizes production disruptions. Automatic controls can be programmed to make firing changes for differences in product size and color. Tunnel kilns vary in length, some being over 500 feet long.
Advantage
1. Tunnel Kiln is the best solution when large volumes of product need to be fired in consistent conditions. They offer excellent temperature conformity and fuel consumption.
2. Tunnel kiln is automatic kiln, the brick loading and unloading automatic. Finished bricks are out of kiln after automatic cooling.
3. In the tunnel kiln, there are fixed pre-heating zone, firing zone and cooling zone, so each place is keep in one temperature range, easy to control the firing temperature and firing cycle.
Disadvantage
1. Tunnel kiln is more expensive compare Hoffmann kiln, needs many special building materials such as refractory bricks, steel structure, insulation products etc.
2. Tunnel kiln is computerized control, require high performance machinery and control system working properly, need more experience technician to operate.
